Preoperative Tests for Tubal Ligation Reversal
The following blood test results is required prior to your tubal reversal.
- Complete blood count (CBC)
A CBC test can be ordered by your local physician and the results must be dated within ninety (90) days of reversal surgery.
Preoperative Blood Tests
Additional lab tests may be required depending upon an individual’s medical history. Abnormal test results indicating medical problems will delay scheduling surgery until corrected or may result in your procedure being rescheduled or cancelled. Cancellation fees may apply.
Please request your doctor of lab to fax the test results to our office. Or, give us the fax number to your doctor’s office or a local laboratory and we will send an order for your tests. Pre-op lab results are due in our office at least 3 weeks prior to the surgery date.
Testing should be performed within 3 – 5 days of scheduling surgery, but not more than 90 days prior to the surgery date.
FSH for Women 40 and older (optional)
Women ages 40 or older may want to have a cycle day 3 FSH assay to assess their ovarian function and reserve of eggs.
Semen analysis (optional)
We recommend, but do not require, that men who have not fathered children previously have a semen analysis ordered by their local physician.
