“Is IVF Better Than Tubal Reversal?”
Posted 13th March, 2012
We recently received a photo from a patient who had her second tubal ligation reversal baby. Baby Ricky is the second baby born to Dawn and her husband Kevin since their tubal ligation reversal surgery three years ago.
Photos and stories like these offer testimony to the main benefit of tubal ligation reversal. The main benefit of tubal reversal over IVF is that it allows women to become pregnant more than once.
If tubal ligation reversal is successful then a woman has a chance to become pregnant more than once and has the opportunity to have more than one child. In comparison, IVF offers a single chance of pregnancy at a single point in time.
A recent infertility opinion published in 2012 by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine supports the benefits of tubal ligation reversal by expressing the opinion of reproductive experts:
Tubal anastomosis for reversal of tubal sterilization has a significantly higher cumulative pregnancy rate than IVF, and it is more cost efficient, even in women 40 years of age or older.
The staff of A Personal Choice would like to congratulate Dawn and Kevin on their second tubal reversal baby and we will soon be sending them their second Monteith Miracle t-shirt!
