What exactly does getting your fallopian tubes ‘burned’ mean?
When a woman decides she does not want to become pregnant again, she will request a tubal ligation. There are many different types of tubal ligation: Essure tubal occlusion, tubal clips, tubal rings, tying and cutting, and burning.
A very common method of tubal ligation is burning fallopian tubes.
When a doctor burns your fallopian tubes they will insert a small camera into your belly button and, using a small tweezer like device, burn a small section (hopefully) of each tube.
This burned section will heal closed and prevent a sperm from fertilizing an egg.
A doctor will often burn fallopian tubes when the tubal ligation procedure is performed long after a baby is born. This procedure is not usually performed within 72 hours of delivering a child.
- If your tubal ligation was performed at the time of a c-section or within 72 hours of having a vaginal birth then most likely your doctor tied and cut your tubes.
- If your tubal ligation was performed long after (one month or greater) since you had your last child then your doctor either performed Essure tubal occlusion or a laparoscopic (camera) procedure. During laparoscopic procedures, tubal clips, tubal rings, and burning are performed.
All of the above methods can be reversed by Dr. Charles Monteith…even a burned tubal ligation.
Is having burned tubes bad? Is it hard to reverse?
Having a burned tubal ligation is not necessarily a bad thing. It sounds like a bad thing….but not all burned tubal ligations are bad! Most can be reversed.
The problem with a burned tubal ligation is not the burning method or procedure, but rather the doctor.
Each doctor performs burned tubal ligation differently. Some doctors burn a little. Some doctors burn a lot.
If you were very young and they thought you were making a bad decision your doctor may have burned very little.
If you were a difficult patient and brought your drama into the office everyday during your pregnancy then they may have gone overboard with your tubal ligation procedure…. basically they dont want you to have a failure and have to deal with you again!
Having a burned tubal ligation is not necessarily bad. Most can easily be reversed. Some can be very challenging and, if you are considering tubal ligation reversal, then you need to see a doctor with experience in reversing difficult tubal ligation procedures.
Dr. Monteith exclusively offers tubal ligation reversal and specializes in the procedure. He performs tubal reversal surgery every day!
Chances of pregnancy after reversing burned tubes?
The chance of pregnancy after reversing burned tubes averages 66%. In comparison, a single cycle of IVF is more expensive and twice as much as tubal reversal surgery with Dr. Monteith.

Can your tubal ligation be reversed?
If you still have doubts or don’t believe what we are saying then you should watch this video.
Are you a candidate for tubal reversal?
Dr. Monteith can reverse most tubal ligations. The best way to find out if you are a candidate is to obtain the tubal ligation operative report and tubal ligation pathology reports.
Many patients are intimidated by the process of getting their tubal ligation records because they dont understand the process or think it is too difficult. The reality is getting your reports is easy if you know what they are and where to look.
If you watch this video you will easily learn what reports are needed, where to get your reports, and how to send them to Dr. Monteith for a free review.
What if you are unable to get your reports?
Most patients can get their reports if they try. Usually most hospitals will keep records for 10 years. Now, in the digital age, records are being kept for the rest of your life.
If you cant get your reports then many patients will come for reversal without their records because they know Dr. Monteith can repair most tubal ligations. Other patients will add Dr. Monteith’s optional screening laparoscopy to their reversal tubal surgery.
For an additional fee, Dr. Monteith can insert a small camera into your belly button and look directly at your fallopian tubes to see if they can be repaired. If your tubes cannot be repaired then you would have a quicker surgery, less time under anesthesia, and you would be offered a full refund of your tubal reversal surgery fee.

How to schedule reversal surgery? 5 simple steps
Once you have sent your reports to Dr. Monteith for a free review…or decided you are going to ‘go all in’ without having any of your reports then all you have to do is schedule on line and complete the phone interview process with the nurse.
Most of Dr. Monteith’s patients travel from across the United States to have surgery with him….so a consultation visit before the surgery is not necessary (it would be too burdensome for people to travel back and forth to Dr Monteith for multiple visits).
After the phone interview is completed the nurse will email you documents which need to be signed and returned…along with full payment and then your surgery will be considered scheduled.
There are 5 simple steps to schedule reversal.
