Can You Get A Tubal Reversal Without Records?
The best way to know if you are a candidate for tubal reversal surgery is to send your tubal ligation operative note to Dr. Monteith for a free review. Most tubal ligation records can be obtained from the Medical Records department in the hospital where your tubal ligation was performed.
Often paper records are destroyed after 10 to 15 years… so some patients may not be able to obtain their records if it has been awhile since their tubal ligation surgery was performed.
Patients who are unable to obtain their records will be reassured to know that Doctor Monteith can repair the tubes in over 90% of patients. For patients who would like more reassurance their tubes can be repaired, Dr. Monteith offers a screening laparoscopy. Dr Monteith is one of the few reversal doctors who offers patients the screening laparoscopy option.
For patients who choose to have the optional screening laparoscopy, if the tubes cannot be repaired then screening laparoscopy patients will be refunded the tubal reversal surgery fee.
If you have wondered “Can you have a tubal reversal without records?”…then the answer is “Yes in the vast majority of cases.” The only time tubal reversal is not possible is in cases when patients have severe scar tissue from multiple pelvic surgeries or when the entire Fallopian tubes have been removed during the tubal ligation procedure.
