When you perform tubal reversal surgery you often have the ability to meet many different people from all walks of life.
Most women who request tubal ligation reversal do so simply because they would like to have more children.
Unfortunately some women request tubal reversal to replace the life of a child lost as a result of a tragic life event.
One such person is Nicole who lost her daughter to a motor vehicle accident. Nicole’s story starts off sad but has a happy ending.
I encourage all who read this to reflect on how blessed we are in our lives.
Is Tubal Ligation Permanent?
Tubal ligation is frequently requested with the idea that a woman wants a permanent procedure done so that she will not become pregnant. There is a problem with ‘permanent’ when the future does not unfold how we would like it to unfold. The future is neither guaranteed nor predictable and Nicole’s story provides proof of the unpredictability of life.
In a previous blog, we shared Nicole’ story with our Tubal Reversal Blog readers. Nicole came to us for a tubal ligation reversal in February of 2009:
I encourage all those who are reading this to take a quick moment to read Nicole’s previous story.
Tubal Reversal: A Years Passage
A year after Nicole’s tubal ligation reversal, I began to wonder how she was doing. Occasionally certain patients will pop into my mind and I will look through our pregnancy database to see if they have reported a pregnancy.
Most patients do keep in touch with Dr. Berger and myself and inform us when they become pregnant; however, many will wait until their babies are born or will not even tell us at all. The day I was about to send Nicole an email to check up on her we received an email from her letting us know she had recently become pregnant!
Moments like these are both wonderful and strangely coincidental. I was happy for Nicole because she had endured so much hardship during her life.
Can Tied Tubes Be Reversed?
Nicole’s tied tubes were reversed and pregnancy can happen. Nicole notified us of the birth of her baby boy. She emailed me a picture of her baby boy (pictured below) with this simple message:
“This is Russell Corbin born October 13 2011 and weighing 7 lbs 5.4 oz and 19 1/4 inches long. We call him Corbin. Thank you so much for making it possible for me to have another child. He is such a blessing.”
Nicole’s pregnancy testimonial illustrates that the tragedies of life can sometimes be overcome, tubal ligation does not have to be permanent, and tied tubes can be reversed and pregnancy can certainly happen.
Free Tubal Reversal
Many times we are contacted by people asking us if we will do a free tubal reversal?
Many times these people have suffered a tragic life event as did Nicole. Unfortunate we are unable to offer free tubal reversal.
