Dr. Charles W. Monteith
Dr. Monteith is the Medical Director of A Personal Choice. Dr. Monteith exclusively provides sterilization reversal surgery and surgery to correct blocked tubes. Dr. Monteith also performs vasectomy reversal and His Choice No Cut Vasectomy (no needle, no scalpel vasectomy). He has over 15 years of experience as a fertility surgeon and is responsible for many successful surgeries. Under the skilled hands of Dr. Monteith many patients will obtain their goals of pregnancy or relief of symptoms after having tubal surgery.
Mary Jo: Nurse Administrator
Nurse Hudak is our Nurse Administrator. She specializes in surgical scheduling but can perform all the job duties of a reversal nurse. She is often the first calm, knowledgeable voice to answer specific questions about medical issues or provide technical details about surgery. She will often be there to greet patients during their pre-operative consultation and also at their post-operative evaluation. Nurse Hudak provides patients a steady and stable presence during all aspects of surgery at the center.
Mary H: Practice Administrator
Mary H. is the Practice Administrator and Chief Financial Officer. She is in charge of overseeing Human Resources, Accounting, and assisting the Business Office with daily activities. She provides the energy and enthusiasm to keep the center running smoothly. She is often behind the scenes and hard at work with the staffing schedule and office accounting. Most patients will not meet her during their stay with but she has a tremendous work effort and is the glue that keeps the reversal team together.
Katherine: Business Office Administrative Assistant
Katherine is a member of our Business Office Staff. She is originally from Southern California and is fluent in Spanish.
Katherine recently moved to Raleigh, NC and she tells us living in North Carolina is ‘growing on her!’ She previously worked as a Spanish translator in a public elementary school in Southern California. She is happily married, has two cats, and in her spare time she likes to bake and watch movies. Katherine is a tremendous asset to our practice because of her easy going personality and proficiency in Spanish.
Ivan: Business Office Administrative Assistant
Ivan Guerrero is our newest Medical Administrative Assistant. He is originally from Puerto Rico and speaks English and Spanish fluently with Spanish being his native language.
Ivan is very welcoming, helpful, and empathetic to all patients whether it is their first time calling on the phone and/or in person. He holds a BS degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Nursing.
He loves trying all kinds of good food and enjoys snacking on cookies. He has two beautiful cats and in his spare time he like to relax by playing video games and has a passion for Dungeons and Dragons.
Penny: Tubal Reversal Scheduling Nurse
Nurse Penny previously worked in both the UNC and Duke Health Care systems. While at UNC she provided primary women’s health care and while at Duke she worked on a busy Med-Surgery floor. She gradually became discontent with the stress of balancing having to provide high-quality personalized health care with the stress of caring for an ever increasing volume of patients. Thankfully Nurse Penny decided to join our staff. Penny has a very calm and pleasing demeanor. She provides patients with a sense of calm reassurance both before and after reversal surgery.
Nurse Penny spends her free time with family. She loves traveling, experiencing new places, hiking and gardening. She also loves driving her fancy, spotless 4 wheel Barbie Jeep on the beaches of the Outer Banks of North Carolina!
Jenna: Tubal Reversal Scheduling Nurse
Nurse Jenna is from Milford Pennsylvania and has lived in North Carolina since 2017. She graduated from Nursing School at University of North Carolina at Greensboro and worked at Cone Health in the Emergency Department. She eagerly left the stressful Emergency room environment to work with our office to help couples have more children with sterilization reversal surgery. She has looked forward to working in Women’s Health Care.
In her free time she likes watching TV, reading books, and hanging out! She has repeatedly described herself as ‘lazy’ but we beg to differ with her. She has been a welcome addition to our staff and we look forward to her future care of our patients.
Heather: Surgical Technician
Heather is our Assistant Surgical Technician. She has been a solid addition to the A Personal Choice family and has helped us during some difficult times and difficult surgeries!
Heather previously worked at WakeMed hospital and also with an oral surgeon. Heather is solid in the operating room and she is loved by all of the A Personal Choice family.
Heather is married and has two sassy daughters who definitely keep her on her toes! In her free time, Heather sings in her church choir, is a frequent Costco shopper, and is constantly on the hunt for the next, best greatest dessert. If you want to get on her good side any sweet dessert is good way to do it…..just dont bring her anything with Nutella on it. She can’t stand Nutella.
Tim: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Tim is the lead Nurse Anesthetist for our center and has years of experience as an anesthesia provider. He is an accomplished instrument rated pilot, has completed several Iron Man Triathlons and many major marathons. One can readily understand the amount of dedication, training, and attention to detail it takes to be an instrument rated pilot and a high endurance athlete. Tim brings this same amount of dedication and attention to detail when providing anesthesia care to our surgery patients. Patients receiving anesthesia will be in the best of hands!
